Trump Rapid head turn

Here I was told to use elongated inbetweens to create a rapid action. I decided to draw Trump doing a rapid turn to see a bomb that was dropped. During the process I was told to add a double take to add character to the animation. So I added a slow head turn where Trump glances over when the bomb is dropped and then the smeared elongated inbetweens fast turn. Since the use of  elongated inbetweens was used a lot in "Looney Tunes" especial in my favorite cartoon "Road Runner" I decided to make the bomb explode and used a similar style for the explosion frames like in "Road Runner" when Wile E. Coyote explodes.

Water Splash 2D

I feel that I struggled to make my first water splash animation look good and natural. I think this is because the timing is okay but the water splash it self is too much together making it look like monster with tentacles instead of water. I'm more used to animating characters and that requires things to keep there form. Therefore animating this gave me a new challenge of making something that is more fluid and random. I need to practice animating elemental effects like water in 2d.

Character Walk Stopmotion

For my Character Walk I decided to make my puppet look like he was deathly ill. I made him take cautious slow steps and I decided to make him sneeze and then wipe his nose with his scarf. I like the way this animation turned out. However, I think I could work on making his steps feel slower and longer and more frail.

3D Walk

Even though I like 3d animation I struggle to create animation in maya that are good compared to the stuff I produce with in 2d  and stopmotion. Here I attempted to do a 3d walk with the character I was provided with called "Monty". I feel I can place the right key frames just I struggle to make the character feel realistic in the program. I struggled to control this character and get it to do what I wanted. I need to keep practicing with Maya if I intend to get better at animating in it.

Head Turn

This is a head turn animation that I did in TVpaint. I am proud of how this head turn turned out. I worked hard to make sure the eyes felt fixed in the characters head, which I did by planning out the eye movement first and did several layers redrawing the eyes. I found that if I added follow through to my character instead of having the whole face stop on the same frame made the character feel more alive and interesting. What I feel I could improve in this animation is the hair. I didn't really know how to approach animating the hair with out making it look very messy. I feel that if the hair had some overlapping action and follow through it might make it feel like it fits with the character.
